Sponsors on the Push-track, Mercedes World and continuous training!!

No-one ever said that training full time would be easy, however there are always things along the way that make for a bit of light relief or at least distraction from the hard work we put in day in day out and the last couple of weeks have seen several such welcome 'distractions'!

Firstly was the sponsors/friends/family pushtrack day held at our training facility in Bath. This was a fantastic opportunity put on by British Skeleton to showcase our sport to some of the people who have been instrumental in getting us to this point! We managed to fling our guests down the slope a couple of times before they had a go themselves...to say that it got competitive would be an understatement but massive fun was had by all and a fair bit of banter flowed around the BBQ afterwards! A massive Thanks to Nigel our performance director and Phil our secretary/track controller for the day for putting on such a great day! And also a huge congrats to all those who made it and took part, it was great seeing how much fun was had by experiencing just a sliver of what we do!

Kate Chow, Simon Blackler of my Sponsor Krystal and girlfriend Bethan Langley at the top of the track.

Secondly was a track experience day at Mercedes World. On our touring around the competitive season we obviously experience all sorts of dangerous/challenging driving conditions and so we all took part in a 'Winter Driving Course' to expose us to the sorts of conditions we would encounter whilst driving on the circuit, and more importantly how to deal with these situations! We also managed to check out the car sales rooms and museum at the circuit which was eye opening to say the least! A half million pound car and a dismantled F1 car hanging from the ceiling are not things to be taken lightly!

The experience on the track however was the most impressive aspect and we all learnt some very very valuable lessons, which in an ideal world we won't ever need to use but in the case that we do then at least we are more confident in our abilities to deal with it!! We all had a fantastic day and many thanks to Mercedes World and your very talented drivers for educating us!

Myself with a rather eye wateringly expensive Mercedes!

In terms of training, everything is going really well so far (touch wood!). Everything is coming together well and we're really kicking on now with just 49 days until we head out to Norway.
